FEES aND COSTS

Our Commitment

 MyLegalCase-Employment will:

  • provide an estimate of how much your case is likely to cost at the outset
  • keep you updated about costs during the process
  • give you a final bill clearly showing what work was done and when, and the amount charged

Our Fees

 Charges may include:

  • basic fee based on an hourly rate
  • a fixed fee
  • other costs (disbursements)

*Fees may also include VAT

OTHER COSTS

During the course of conducting your case, we may incur other costs (disbursements).

These may range from Court fees to expert fees e.g. professional medical reports.  We will endeavour to advise you of the potential costs involved, beyond our service fees,  as part of 'Our Commitment'.  We reserve the right to recover and seek advance payment for such costs.

No Win No Fee

While we do not believe that 'No Win No Fee' provides best value for money* for our clients, we will consider any request for this on a case by case basis.

'No Win No Fee' arrangements can be either a Damages-based Fee or a Conditional Fee.

Damages-BASED Fee

With a Damages-based Fee,  instead of paying the actual legal fees, a percentage is of any award is pre-agreed with your legal representative as being your fee, should you win your case.  This cannot be more than 35% of the amount awarded.

*Costs are rarely awarded in Employment cases, but if they are only the actual solicitors fee can be recovered. You will still be liable for the remainder of the Damages-based fee.

CONDITIONAL FEE

With a Conditional Fee arrangement, a "success fee" is pre-arranged with your legal representative.  This can be up to 100% of the actual solicitor fees.

*Costs are rarely awarded in Employment cases, but if they are only the actual solicitors fee can be recovered. You will still be liable for the Conditional ("success") Fee.

Why we do not recommend 'No Win No Fee'

Both the above examples demonstrate that for a successful case, in most scenarios, the client can be no better off than paying the normal basic fee arrangement.

This also serves to protect all parties from being subjected to claims that frivolous or meritless.

We have everyone's interests at heart.
